CityVet, a Network of Veterinary-Owned Practices, will Officially Open its Doors in Southtown on May 13th

CityVet, the Dallas-based leading network of 37 veterinary-owned practices, will open a new clinic in Southtown, TX at 1028 S Alamo St, San Antonio, TX 78210 on Friday, May 13th. This will be the 7th CityVet San Antonio location that will continue the approach to personalized veterinary medicine, serving the people through pet care with kindness at the forefront.

Tucked away in one of the most historical and artistic neighborhoods of San Antonio, the Southtown clinic will serve the community by providing full-service care for pets, including preventative care, diagnostics, same-day walk-ins, surgery, grooming, and dental care.

CityVet Southtown will be led by San Antonio local Dr. Anne Romeo, DVM, a graduate of Texas A&M University who earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and brings 9 years of veterinary experience to her role.  Her expertise spans across various veterinary fields, including preventative care, veterinary specialties, and educational initiatives aimed at inclusive patient care. Additionally, Dr. Romeo's passion for feline medicine is evident in her clinic's design, featuring dedicated feline exam rooms, waiting areas, and hospitalization facilities.

During her last 4 years as a Medical Director at a national pet health care company, Dr. Romeo felt a pull towards owning her own clinic and being able to serve the community she called home. Throughout her search in finding a veterinary network partner, CityVet stood out for its culture and how they instantly treated her as an equal partner. Dr. Romeo also noted, “I was drawn to the fact that CityVet was founded by a DVM, which is surprisingly rare for many veterinary networks.”

“I am thrilled to partner with CityVet and open a clinic here in my hometown,” says Dr. Romeo on the new location. “There are currently no veterinary clinics in the Southtown area and members of the community are always looking for exceptional veterinarian care for their furry friends.”

Dr. Romeo is offering a one-stop shop by providing a wide spectrum of care to pets and their people that will keep them coming back for all their future veterinary needs. In addition, she vows to work closely with her clients to determine the best medical plan for their pets through client-inclusive patient care.

CityVet President and CEO, David Boguslawski adds, "We are thrilled to partner with Dr. Romeo on the opening of our 7th clinic in the San Antonio area. Being a native to the area, we feel that she truly understands the community and their needs; and we know that Dr. Romeo and her team will provide the highest standard of care for our new neighbors.”
